How You Can Help Rescue -
There are many different ways to help a rescue - volunteering is only one of them!

in fostering,

here to read what that is about, or if you are already aware of
what
that entails and would like to try it, click here for a foster
application for Aussie Rescue SoCal, Inc.
If you would like to help out but are not able to foster, transporting rescue dogs from one location to another is a regular occurence - home/fence checks of prospective adopters is another - if you have a digital camera, that is a TREMENDOUS help in rescue! Sometimes it may be taking a picture of an Aussie or Aussie mix in a shelter (with their permission of course), or one in a private home that needs help placing - to verify that it is indeed an Aussie or Aussie mix, and to use on the website. FUND RAISING! Whoosh! That is a CONSTANT need in rescue - someone with ideas, someone to orgainze it, someone to follow it through, and on and on. Scanning Shelters' website for Aussie and Aussie mixes and letting me know about them to post up on our site, as well as to let me know when they are no longer in a shelter. Just being on a shelter's mailing list for a particular breed isn't always enough - no offense to some, but I've seen plenty of dogs labeled Aussie that are about as much Aussie as my shoelace, as well as the other way around - labeled a Spaniel (for example) and they are a purebred Aussie....hours are spend scanning through shelter websites to check for Aussies and their mixes - L.A. County shelters alone there are 6 shelters within their system, and each shelter may have 5 or more pages of dogs, 10 dogs to a page, listed in 'adoptable' as well as that many or more in 'lost and found'.
