this little cutie was unfortunately hit by a car and had a fractured right front leg - she went into the orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Dhupa, and had plate/screws put in, and is looking good so far! Any donations would be most appreciated - the estimate for her surgery was $2700.00, we've got some so far, thanks to COAST dog club and others, but still have more to raise - at roughly ten months old, she has her life ahead of her and we wanted to do whatever we could to make sure she has optimal recovery and usage of that leg :] if you'd like to make a donation, we have paypal (link on our home page) or you can postal mail it to:

UPDATE! 2-10: Mercy had her last recheck on Friday - her leg is healing nicely, xrays show the gap has bridged and bone is solid around the screws :] Many Many THANKS to all that have donated to help this girl!!

Here is Mercy on Friday, just after her surgery.... her paw & leg were really swollen at that point, but has since gone back down with the help of warm compresses twice a day by her foster family :] She is feeling great - to the point she is trying to get her fellow canines on the household to play with her! She is restricted to crate rest, with only a few potty breaks/walks a day, for the next 6-8 weeks - she'll then get re-xrayed to see how the healing is doing and if all looks good, she'll still have crate restriction for another few weeks, but with a little more allowances for leashed walks, etc, to work on her muscle tone a little. If all goes well, after 12 weeks she should be all healed and ready for life again!
